Is There A Drug Type Personality?

The drug type personality can be better described as a biochemical personality. It does exist. Perhaps the very first biochemical personality was the fictional Mr. Hyde alternative version of Dr. Jekyll. In the Robert Louis Stevenson novella Dr. Jekyll swallows a potion (drug) and slowly transforms into the murdering criminal Mr. Hyde. At first Hyde can revert back to Dr Jekyll, but after time he permanently remains the monstrous Mr. Hyde. Stevenson wrote this novella while using cocaine, and died at the age of 44 in Samoa after years of ill-health. Bio means life, and chemical having to do with chemicals. The term biochemical was coined by L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of Scientology and means simply, “the interaction of life forms and chemical substances”. While films promote the Jekyll and Hyde phenomena to extremes, it is true that people will change personalities as a result of drugs. Once marijuana was thought to be just a mild sedative, and some even claimed it a harmless natural product. But today with hydroponics, and thousands of people gone schizophrenic after its use, it is generally recognized that drugs can predicate mental illness. Drugs often make people addicts and turn them into criminals to satiate their addiction. Even the infamous high school massacres in the USA came only after psychotropic drug use. A friend of mine used to be the superintendent of police in an Asian national capital city. He told me how one day he worked out that the drug addicts must be the source of crime in his city. He sent out an edict to round them up. The crime rate fell dramatically. The only trouble was, as he explained, was that after drying out from addiction, when the former addicts were released back into society the crime went back up. They reverted to drugs and the cause of the addiction had not been solved. But the point of this story is that people change personality when under the influence of drugs. They turn from Dr. Jekyll into Mr. Hyde. We have all seen associates fall into lethargy after getting onto the cannabis treadmill. This lethargy is simply an emotional tone of apathy, a state of being of a body so intoxicated by poison that it imitates emotionally the very first stages of body death. Stop the intoxication and the person can come up out from the lethargy. But different drugs have different effects. For some people the drug not only prevents the person from being himself, but pushes him into the beingness or personality of someone else. Drugs are basically toxins. Too much toxin kills you. But a very small amount of toxin acts like a stimulant. A medium amount of drugs makes you sleep. Alcohol is included. Toxin means poison and comes from the Greek word toxican, which was a poison put on arrows. Toxins also include industrial poisons, such as pesticides. Toxins also include preservatives and things added to food so as to stop mould. These are all toxins designed to stop life in one form or another. They do the same inside you. They can also alter personality, make docile men into madmen. And if these madmen then found their way to a health professional, those professionals are so heavily sold on drugs themselves, that they prescribe drugs to ease the madness. The patient then of course goes more mad. The body is made up of certain chemicals and compounds. It is quite complex and while it has safeguards to break down a fair amount of toxic substances, it fails during overloads. When druggies atrophy their brains with marijuana their life as they knew it has mostly ended. When drug addicted mothers give birth to drug addicted babies one wonders about the human race. The planet is becoming more toxic by the day. We can look at painkillers, prescription drugs, cold tablets and so on, and blame the pharmaceutical industry for slick advertisements. But they are not our only problem. There are toxins in soft drink, hamburgers, cookies, tobacco, and all manner of foods. Today the world is plagued with toxic food consumables. The world is getting smaller. We are living shoulder to shoulder in a crowded state. The point I make is to raise awareness of where this world is headed. I do not want to live in a world that breeds killers from birth, which makes the insane with every mouthful they take. I do not think you do either. Robert Louis Stevenson died in 1894. Mr. Hyde did not.
